(CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, February 20, 2026) Rayser Holdings, Inc. announced the acquisition of Skunk River Block & Pallet, located in Pella, Iowa.
“We are excited to add another company to the Rayser Holdings community. Skunk River has a strong, grassroots history in Pella and its industry. We were honored to be considered as an option as the Van Hall Family looked to transition the company to its next stage of ownership,” stated Michelle Jensen, President & CEO of Rayser Holdings.
Skunk River Block & Pallet, Inc. is a leader in the custom wood pallet and crating industry, serving central Iowa for over 43 years. The business is well known for building quality new pallets, crates, blocks, and other specialty wood packaging products.
The company was founded in 1983 in Pella by Arvin and Darlene Van Hall. The couple built the business to address the need of local manufacturers for access to new wood pallets and packaging. Today, their dream continues to expand, providing specialty wood packaging products for area businesses, big and small. The business continues to operate on the philosophy it has had since the start, “Building a quality product, delivering on time, every time.”
“When we decided to exit the business that we built and nurtured for over 40 years, we chose to work with Rayser Holdings. We selected Rayser Holdings because we wanted to give back to the employees who helped our family build this business, and we wanted to see its legacy continued,” shared Darlene Van Hall, Skunk River’s former owner.
Rayser Holdings was established in 2018 to diversify and enhance employee ownership. Skunk River Block & Pallet joins CarePro Health Services, J-TEC Associates, and Midwest Memorials as part of the Rayser community. Rayser looks forward to welcoming future organizations that will enhance the portfolio. To learn more about Rayser Holdings, visit their website at rayserholdings.com.
